Sky Power, an abstract/figurative painter, studied art at the Cornish School of Allied Arts in Seattle, WA. She has exhibited extensively throughout the US, and consistently in Provincetown for the past eight years. She moved to Provincetown in 1976 to start the horse & carriage business, and established her piano tuning business in 1985. Combining her skills as a wood-worker, Sky’s paintings are both bold and delicate, conveying the duality of humankind and her individual inner journey. By removing pigment from monochromatic surfaces, or sanding through layers of color, even tearing off textured areas of paint, then reintroducing the pigment as collage, she creates an emotional aesthetic that embraces the paradox of our existence. | |||
